At Acteus, our interests are inseparable from the needs of the communities where we operate. We demonstrate this commitment through our Corporate Social Responsibility Programme — Acteus Smiles — which serves various communities through local organizations. Each year, Acteus Smiles works directly with organizations based at the heart of the communities we operate to assist underprivileged children and women on the road to a better quality of life, regardless of their ethnic, religious, political or social backgrounds.

In line with the U.N. Sustainable Development, we partner with local schools, orphanages and sport clubs to ensure that no child is left behind, implementing measures to ensure access to education for all.

We also invest in the development of the empowerment of women by deploying technologies to accelerate their economic well-being so that they can provide for themselves and their families. hence contributing back to their communities.

Below are some examples of our philanthropic initiatives and partnerships:

— Bangladesh

The KNH-Ahsania Centre for Abandoned Children & Destitute Women in Dhaka provides basic health and educational support to destitute women throughout their pregnancy, as well as offer shelter and education to street children aged 0 to 5 years old. In 2017, Acteus Smiles provided financial assistance to this charity for a play area in the centre as well as additional support.

— Myanmar

Acteus Smiles provides support to the Zabu Oak Shaung nunnery school based out of Yangon. The school educates young female students learning to become nuns as well as children from surrounding villages.

We also provide some logistical support to the Canossian Daughters of Charity, which gives life skills training to young Burmese women living in rural areas.

In partnership with Dr. Aung Htet Htun, a local Burmese doctor dedicated to providing free surgery for children in need, Acteus Smiles is currently sponsoring families seeking financial assistance for medical expenses.

— Papua New Guinea

In line with our mission to support literacy development in local communities, Acteus Smiles collaborates with the Trinity Christian Academy in Papua New Guinea to provide education to children from the province.

We also aid in the finance of the remuneration for teachers and for the purchase of educational material for the students via the organization www.soroptimistinternational.org

We also take pride in sponsoring the Valley Hunters rugby team from Port-Moresby.

Valley Hunters Rugby Union Club

A community Club created back in 2008 by former Pukpuk Geofrrey Puipui, the club’s players base mainly consists of disadvantaged youths from various areas around Port-Moresby. Acteus takes great pride in providing support to the club, helping to instil the values of commitment and discipline to the youths.

PTTEP Myanmar Golf Tournament

Acteus has been a proud regular sponsor of the PTTEP Myanmar Zawtika Charity Golf Tournament for the past years. Since its inception, PTTEP Myanmar Charity Golf Tournament has raised funds to support education to underprivileged communities of Myanmar, which is in line with Acteus objectives.
